This new standard is called EVC, which stands for Enhanced Video Connector. This new standard was designed for higher bandwidth video transmission exceeding 2GHz. It also utilizes connections for multimedia devices via Universal Serial Bus (USB), IEEE-1394, and Display Data Channel (DDC) pins inherent in the connector.
