RoHS/Lead Free Information and Documents

The purpose of RoHS is to reduce the influence of these substances on the ecosystem and to contribute to the overall preservation of the global environment. Companies throughout the electronics industry, either through ISO or through their own initiatives, are implementing programs intended to limit and eliminate certain substances used in the manufacture of semiconductor devices. Xmultiple has implemented RoHS programs and offer RoHS on all of our connectors.

Customers and manufacturers are focused on device assembly to ensure compliance with environmental regulations. Two directives from the European Union called "Waste from Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE)" and "Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS)" will restrict the use of lead and other materials in electronic component products. These mandated directives will take effect beginning July 1, 2006.
